My name is Katumba Badru Sultan. I am a multi award winning freelance photojournalist and a highly creative and detail-driven documentary photographer, with key experience shooting in changing environments and sensitive situations but a lover of street photography. After studying a bachelors degree in Journalism at Makerere University, I went on to forge a successful freelance career. Notable projects include; Following 300 km from Tororo to Kampala with pilgrims on their way to Namugongo for a series titled “Don’t Joke with Faith" , and struggles with plastic waste and recycling in Uganda and Kenya for a series titled “My Trash Your Trash". My most recent series, about the courage of men and women who slept in the markets during the Covid 19 lockdown, is widely published. My work has been featured in numerous publications around the world including Vogue, Guardian UK, New Vision, Rolling Stone, The Sunday Times, Science Christian Monitor, Fare Magazine, London Evening Standard Bloomberg Etc.
