Summary
"La Bête" is a new project I developed in April '25, inside the Villa Perochon residency programs, where six international artits had 2 weeks to create a new work a produced the associated exhibition.
"La Bête" is a new project I developed in April '25, inside the Villa Perochon residency programs, where six international artits had 2 weeks to create a new work a produced the associated exhibition. "La Bête" is a visual essay on monstrosity and the figure of the monster, understood in a very open way. The work is based on myths existing in the natural environment of the Marais Poitevin, especially the figure of the Galipote: a wolf-like creature that was a true belief for the local inhabitants for decades.
The work was exhibited at the Médiathèque Pierre Moinot at the end of our stage in Niort, together with the works of the other 5 artists that were selected to participate in the residency program of this year.
Villa Pérochon is a contemporary photographic art center in Niort (Deux-Sèvres, France). Each year, it organizes the Young International Photography Meetings. Since its creation, the Young International Photography Meetings has hosted photographers each year for a unique creative residency. At the end of this residency, the works created are preserved by Villa Pérochon, thus constituting a unique photographic collection.
