New residency in Romania with the support of Culture Moves Europe and Foundation Conversation Carpathia.

Summary

In November 2024, I have had the opportunity to work in a new artistic residency, based in the Fagaras mountains. With the support of the Culture Moves Culture grant from the Goethe institut, and in partnership with the Foundation Conservation Carpathia. The aim was to work together in the fields with the team of the Foundation for creating a photographic project focused on the Nature of the Carpathian region and its inhabitants.

My residency in Nucșoara, supported by the Culture Moves Europe grant and Conservation Carpathia, has been a deeply enriching experience. It allowed me to immerse myself in the ecosystem and community of the Carpathian Mountains, exploring the connections between people and their environment. Through landscapes and portraits, I developed my project, The Voices of the Forest, capturing the essence of this unique place. I also had the chance to delve into the local folklore, its legends, and the mysteries surrounding the region—something that deeply resonates with my work and inspires me to continue exploring the relationship between nature, spirituality, and human beliefs. This journey gave me a new perspective on the challenges and collective responsibility required to conserve such a fragile and valuable environment. I am incredibly grateful for this experience, which has been an important milestone in my artistic path.
