About

My name is Gioele Sala, I was born in august 13th 1994 in Lugano.

After graduating in physics and mathematics at the Liceo di Lugano 1 (Highschool), I'm now studying Psychology in the first year at the Unil (University of Lausanne).

My passion for photography has been developping through my first childhood also because of my parents, who showed me a lot of photography and art books and brought me to a lots of exibition.

Although my passion has began very early, I decided to buy my first camera (Canon EOS 450D) only at the age of 15 years old, and from this moment on I never stopped taking pictures in every place I've been.

I discovered my passion for the human being as a subject of my images only after one year of taking pictures, precisely when I was travelling through Namibia with my parents, during the summer of 2010.

On summer 2011 I've been in Arles (F) for the  "Festival International de la photo" and I took part to the workshop of Klavdij Sluban. With him I had the possibility to improve my eye by confrontating my works with a lot of other photographers, and I also decided to use only a 35mm fix lens so that i had to improve my skill into approaching my subjects.

For 2 years I used an analogic camera (Olympus OM-2) and last year I bought a new digital camera (Canon EOS 6D) to bring with me in my trip throug South East Asia.
