Juan Páez

As a Colombian photographer I work to develop a narrative construction that is accompanied by an investigative exercise that takes care of the diverse representations that Latam is, as well as the visual language, although aesthetically it is considered more traditional in the documentary and journalistic sense.

Although my education has been based on short non-formal programs since 2011 that I began studies in photography has allowed me to explore specific knowledge courses such as the international class in Hannover Germany in 2018, passing also through the IWMF Adelante program of investigative journalism and in 2022 I was part of the VII Academy seminar I of photojournalism.

Since 2015 I have been working in news agencies doing current affairs assignments. Since 2018 I work as a freelancer offering stories to different media around the world about Colombia, with focus on identity, territory, climate change and the transformation of society. For this, being freelance has allowed me to freely take on stories that are not in the agendas of the media directly allowing longevity in the proposals.
