Based in Kampala, Uganda, I work as a documentary, street, and video photographer. I have a strong passion for using visual media to tell stories and for documenting genuine events that show the variety and vitality of African culture.
I am drawn to the elegance and impact of black-and-white photography as a photographer. In my opinion, removing color allows the viewer to concentrate on the core of the moment captured, the emotion expressed, and the narrative being told. I want to use my lens to tell universally human stories that cut across linguistic and cultural boundaries. By omitting the captions, I invite the viewer to give the image their own interpretation and to add their own experiences and feelings to the story. My work aims to provoke thought and conversation rather than to offer solutions. I aim to capture the beauty and complexity of the world around us through black-and-white sequences and encourage a deeper appreciation for the moments that make up our lives.
