Marika Bertoni author Italo / Austrian, born in 1984. She graduates in Visual Arts, Photography, at the Fine Art Academy of Florence.
By revisiting some places (with a predilection for the metropolis as a place of over sensory stimulation) she tries to translate the external world through a whole 'inner world more human and complex that materializes in the act and actions of the characters who populate her stories, often inhabitants of border areas (geographic and emotional) that are always constantly suspended in places recognizable only in their physical nature fragmented, confused, incomprehensible in its entirety.
The result is a work of reconstruction, addition, and Visual subtraction,where Photography becomes merely a tool to write down the emotions of that stories.
These storys have often a hibryd and dreamy nature, where paradox and overlap of the plans are accepted as typical human condition. The concept of boundary is understood as a necessary link to the real understanding of things.
The double and triple exposures and the different temporal levels express the contemporary feeling of “multitude”.
