I am focusing on visual storytelling and how to apply its techniques to spread photo culture. I apply the quote of Robert Capa on my practice when he stated that If your pictures are not good enough, you are not close enough. This alerts me to really be close and invisible approaching that no words needed to describe what is already obviously shown in photos. My principal interest is to shed light on narratives which merit both national and international attention which they seldom receive. I am keen on revealing the unknown lives of those who belong to forgotten and marginalized communities and demonstrate how they can retain resilience under cruel circumstances specially with the deprivation of social justice and decent life. Applying for this grant will enable me to identify how history of documentation along with its practice become increasingly aligned to political and social issues nowadays. I hope this grant suggests me new strategies to help me develop techniques shying away traditional approach of documentary photography. Everyday I challenge myself by trying to go beyond the boundaries of my crafts therefore I always try to find an accessible language of photos and their impacts.
