In March, 2020, my Queens neighborhood became the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak. Through unusual circumstances, I found myself living in my two-bedroom, one bathroom apartment with my 86-year-old mother from Florida and my ex-wife from Los Angeles. We couldn't go out to shop for food, and it seemed like I couldn't even take a bath without my mother or my ex-wife walking in on me. That's when I got the idea to document our confinement using a good dose of humor. What started as a temporary project has now lasted a full year.  

As it evolved, "Quarantine in Queens" became a personal commentary on caregiving, love, and family responsibility. What started as a personal Instagram series has gone viral worldwide, resulting in features on NBC’s Today Show, The Washington Post, The New York Post, Buzzfeed, Fox News, Feature Shoot, Petapixel, My Modern Met, Musee Magazine, and media outlets worldwide.  Quarantine in Queens has won awards such as the Portrait Photographer of the Year at the 2020 Annual Photography Awards, First Place in Family Photography at the ND Awards, and as a Finalist in the Portrait Project at the Lucie Foundation.
