There are thing in this world that bring awe and wonderment to people. Iceland has captured my heart. The people and the culture have me transfixed me. The landscape and the auroras are really all that I feel I can come close to capturing so they have taken my focus. I have not come across anything so mystical as the northern lights. So few people have had the opportunity to experience them, and let alone to experience them with incredible backdrops. In this project I will be spending a total of 12 weeks in Iceland. I will be photographing the northern lights over waterfalls, ice formations, and lava flow. I will do this so that others don't have to spend days camping in the sub zero temperatures to see the beautiful combinations. I am compiling the photos into a photobook that I will call "Iceland: Fire, Ice and the Northern Lights". I am doing all this out of passion and have spent many nights already fighting temperatures below zero degrees Fahrenheit. Some of my results already are breathtaking. This has all become more difficult recently as I am now battling leukemia and trying to balance treatment with travel. Its a great motivator for me to fight and something to look towards on days when the chemo gets me down. Amid my adventures I have another life adventure challenge, leukemia, its just a speed bump, but an annoying speed bump.

Just incase someone stumbles upon my project and wants to help out, I have a struggling kickstarter going you can check out below.
