Suracheth Prommarak (Pong) was born in 1981 in a rural area of Chiang Rai, Thailand. He accidently found his artistic ability when he was asked by his teacher to join an art competition. At nine years old with a theme of "my nature" he drew a field of trees and to his surprise he won. He did not really recognise his own artistic abilty so he went on to study Mass Communication in Bangkok and then pursue a career with a large company.
Eventually, in 2010 he found his way back to art by seriously concentrating on photography, learning from books borrowed from the library and practice in the field. Recently he was also awarded a scholarship to study abroad in master of science programme at the University of Hohenheim, Stuttgart in Germany studying sustainable agriculture and integrated watershed management. Many of the European prints were taken as he cycled from Italy to Germnay to take up his university place. Now he is working as freelance photographer and running his own business selling prints and creating virtual tours for resort and hotel websites.
In 2010 he was selected for the photography book of Siam and in 2012 held his first solo exhibition entitled "Lives of the Landscape" at Hohenhiem University. In March 2013 his work was selected to be shown at the opening of Art Bridge Chiang Rai.
He currently lives in Chiang Mai and his prints can be seen at Chiangrai Art bridge located on Phahonyothin Road in Chiang Rai.
