About
Régina Monfort‘s passion for editing and sequencing images stems from her own work as a social documentary photographer.

Since joining FotoEvidence as photo editor in 2010, Monfort has worked on a number of books, among them: Josue RIvas' Standing Strong (upcoming), Daniella Zalcman’s Signs of Your Identity, Marcus Bleasdale’s The Unravelling and Tanya Habjouqa's Occupied Peasures. Her independent editing projects include Andrew Lichtenstein’s Mark, Unmarked, Remembered (West Virginia University Press), Richard Sandler’s The Eyes of the City (powerHouse Books) and Stephen Shames' Bronx Boys (University of Texas Press).

Monfort brings her formal experience working in the studios of Irving Penn and Richard Avedon to all of her projects. From 1997 to 2002 she assisted documentary film director Jean-Pierre Krief on the series Contacts, co-produced by Arte and Le Centre National de la Photographie.

Monfort has taught photography at CUNY La Guardia Community College, Pratt Institute and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is a member of the American Photography Archives Group.
