These photographs are from an ongoing work about the young generation of Pankisi Gorge.
It shows how young women pursue their life endeavors in a society that is undergoing significant changes: while the traditional Sufi way of living is in decline, a more strict branch of Sunni Islam (Salafism) is taking hold in the valley.
