In the Spring of 2018, I was given an assignment that would turn out to be one of the most meaningful assignments of my career.  The Bridge, a non-profit that provides critical services, including supported housing, mental health and substance abuse treatment, case management, and job training and placement, to 2,300 vulnerable New Yorkers each year, requested me to create a portrait series of gentleman named Robert Tandy.
Robert had been at The Bridge's Marmion Safe Haven for about 9 months when he was selected to receive his first-ever- independent apartment in one of The Bridge's new housing buildings in the Bronx.
Robert had been homeless in NYC since 1979.
