En Foco Fellowship presents the Exhibition "Reveal"

Summary

En Foco and WallWorks NY present the group exhibition, Reveal, at Bronx Kreate Hub, 15 Canal Place. Reveal explores the art of this year’s 10 En Foco Fellows who demonstrate the highest quality of work. They include: Javier Álvarez, Daniel Aros-Aguilar, Dennis RedMoon Darkeem, Carlos L. Esguerra, Paola Martínez Fiterre, Diana Guerra, Carmen Lizardo, Jahi Sabater, Cinthya Santos-Briones, and Nyasia Sylvester. Marisol Díaz-Gordon, a Bronx-born and raised Puerto Rican award-winning photographer and adjunct lecturer, is the curator. Reveal is on view from June 11 to July 12.

About the En Foco Photography FellowshipEn Foco’s Photography Fellowship initiative affirms its ongoing commitment to the professional and financial support of early-career artists of color and serves to inform exhibition organizers and curators of an existing pool of quality under-recognized artists. The photography program awards 10 Fellowships at $1,000 per artist and a group exhibition. This year’s recipients were selected by a panel of peers and industry professionals from a pool of almost 100 applicants.

The Fellows are presented in En Foco’s most recent Nueva Luz publication, available in print and digitally on the exhibit’s opening day. Copies will be available for purchase. Launched in 1985, Nueva Luz is an ongoing art magazine that addresses social and cultural issues at the fore of photography, with a particular emphasis on narratives from artists of color.
