I’m a documentary photographer and filmmaker based in the Pacific Northwest, focused on stories rooted in justice, humanity, and the strength of underrepresented voices. I believe in photography and film as tools not just for witnessing, but for building connection, accountability, and lasting change. Originally from the UK, I began my photojournalism career with the Associated Press in Portland, Oregon. Over the years, I’ve worked across the U.S. and abroad- from Central America to India and Europe- always guided by a deep respect for the people and communities I photograph. My work is grounded in long-term relationships, collaborative storytelling, and a commitment to honoring the perspectives of those whose stories are being told. For more than a decade, I’ve worked in close partnership with the Chinook Indian Nation, documenting their efforts to protect ancestral lands, preserve cultural lifeways, and pursue federal recognition. This work has included still photography, documentary film, and community-centered media support. My short film, Guardians of the Waters, which screened at the 2025 Wild Coast Film Festival, and the Issaquah Film Festival 2025, explores Chinook-led environmental restoration efforts on the Oregon Coast. My photography has been recognized by organizations including World Press Photo, the National Press Photographers Association, the Sony World Photography Awards, and I was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. In 2022, I received an Individual Artist Fellowship from the Oregon Arts Commission. Wherever I'm working, locally or globally, I aim to approach each story with care, humility, and a sense of shared responsibility. My goal is to create work that not only informs, but invites reflection, builds trust, and helps shift the lens toward equity.
