This is a story about love, about Moscow and about the city night. This story can even be seen as a catalog of light the city can produce. But above all this is a very personal story about my feelings, story of love and hope, told through the views of familiar streets transformed by the darkness but continues to emit light. It'is about the way the light is impossible without the darkness, about how the night clears the city of garbage accumulated in the streets and in our souls. This is about the beauty exists everywhere and always. Like night and day. And this story is love confession. I made this for Nadezhda Prikhodko.
«I'm walking in circles through this city. Looking at its lights, listening to Baroque music and Scandinavian jazz, and feeling you next to me. I am drinking, missing you, going mad, trying to sober up and taking pictures of the night. Then to show you these photographs and to see delight in your eyes. Even when you don't answer - this is my way of talking to you from a distance. My way of dealing with the emptiness. I'm telling you stories about darkness and light, stories about me. Each photograph is a letter to you, this message is sent to the path at that moment, when I press the shutter button and think of you. And I don't not know what I'll get on the film any given time. This is my way of saying "I love you". My way of saying how much I need you - the greatest miracle happened in my life».
