Despite being an integral part of the workforce in Thailand for decades, Myanmar migrant workers are still discriminated against by the ethnocentric Thai society because of their ethnicity, poor backgrounds, and language barrier.

This photo story will take you through the labyrinth of small alleys in Yaowarat, Bangkok’s Chinatown, to discover a hidden sub-community of Myanmar migrant workers, the anonymous driving force of this commercial quarter. They come to Thailand to work and would endure any hardship to make money, hoping for a better future for themselves and their families.
