Saut d'Eau, the city of happiness
Thousands of people went to "Saut d'Eau" this year to celebrate the Virgin of Mount Carmel, surnamed Virgo Miracle, on July 16th.
Its true name, "Ville Bonheur", "Saut d'Eau", located to the east of Haiti, constitutes one of the most famous Haitian places in terms of pilgrimage and expression of syncretism.
The source of the prosperity of the commune of "Saut d'Eau" is undoubtedly the fall that has earned its name. Of majestic beauty, it is the main attraction of the Low "Plateau Central". Many visitors come from far away, in spite of the appalling conditions in which the journey takes place, to admire its beauty in its case of greenery. Others come in pilgrimage to thank the Virgin or make a vow. It is said that the Virgin appeared at the site of the fall and since then the pilgrims have not stopped flooding.
