Gabriella (they/them) is a queer visual artist, documentary storyteller, and diarist based between New Haven, CT and San Juan, Puerto Rico. They focus on documenting intimate subjects: grief, mental health, family relations of the queer community, sex work, and the relationship between sexuality, depression, and the body. Their work is raw, intimate, and personal. They have been published in National Geographic, TIME, The New York Times, and The Nation, among others. Their work has been exhibited in festivals and mayor museums around the globe.

In 2019 they was selected to participate in The New York Times Portfolio Review, The New York Times Student Journalism Institute, the Visura.co Mentorship/Residency in New York, the Program of Independent Studies of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Puerto Rico, 20Fotógrafos Atitlán, and the Women Photograph Mentorship Program. In 2020 they became a trained death doula, a Magnum Foundation Photography and Social Justice Fellow and Grantee, an IWMF Howard G. Buffett Fund for Women Journalists Grantee, and a Women Photograph + Nikon Grantee. Early 2021 they were selected as a finalist in the inaugural NOOR Stanley Greene Fellowship & Legacy Prize.

In 2022 they published their first photo book La gente deprimida tiene sexo sucio y ganas de morir with the independent Colombian publisher Raya Editorial. This book has been acquired by the Museum of Modern Art Library (MoMA) and the Whitney Museum of American Art Library's Special Collection. Their installation in the group exhibition no existe mundo poshuracán: Puerto Rican Art in the Wake of Hurricane Maria at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, New York was acquired for the museum's permanent collection in 2023.

In 2023, they exhibited their first solo show soy yo quien te ama y te duele at the independent gallery El Lobi in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Gabriella is currently studying Graphic Design at the Yale School of Art in New Haven, CT.
