Fatemeh Behboudi (b. 1985, Tehran) is an Iranian photographer whose work gives voice to grief, memory, and resilience. In Mothers of Patience and The Unfinished War, she documents families — especially mothers — still waiting for the return of their sons lost in the Iran–Iraq War. With quiet intimacy, her photographs honor absence as much as presence, reminding us that war does not end when the fighting stops. Through her lens, mourning becomes testimony and reflection. Her work is a poignant reminder of photography’s power to hold space for dignity, memory, and love.— Adriana Teresa Letorney
