The Iran-Iraq War (1980-1988) was one of the bloodiest wars of the 20th century.
More than 220,000 Iranian soldiers were killed in this war, and after the end of the war, it was revealed that the bodies of 11,000 Iranian martyrs were missing and never found. The bodies of these soldiers were missing in some border areas of the two countries and some cities in Iraq.
After the end of the war, Iranian groups began searching the war-torn border and cities of Iran and found the bodies of 7,000 Iranian martyrs.
After that, the bodies of about 2,500 missing Iranian soldiers were found in Iraqi soil and brought to Iran under the supervision of the International Committee of the Red Cross. However, the bodies of another 2,500 martyrs still remain in Iraqi soil.
Most of these bodies are unidentified and are known in Iran as unknown martyrs. The martyrs, who are highly respected and valued by the Iranian people, and many families of the missing soldiers, are still waiting for the return of their children's bodies 37 years after the war. A war that never ended for the Iranian people.
This collection is about the works and identities of Iranian martyrs who were found in some areas of Iraq ( Somar , Basrah , Amarah ( 37 years after the end of the Iran and Iraq war).
