Community exhibition 'Our Women Ancestors are Here' in Oaxaca, Mexico.
#News
Our Ancestresses Are Here' is a choral visual narrative about the struggle of contemporary Afro-Mexican women from the Costa Chica of Oaxaca.
Last year I began this series of photographs, portraits, and interviews with Yolanda Camacho, activist and founder of the collective Ña a Tundá, and with Poli Habana,a member of the same collective.
So this year we did the first exhibition of this series in the community of Tututepec in Oaxaca where Yolanda Camacho is originally from. This exhibition is the first installment of a longer series I will create in the following years.
This begins thanks to Ña a tundá's support and the Revolutionary Storyteller Grant 2024 by Photographers Without Borders.
