As a photographer and a single mother of three, one of my work passions is to do school portraits during the fall season. I was very fortunate that during the last school year while the pandemic was still hitting hard in New York City I was able to have work with my agency photographing kids that were either studying remotely or had decided to attend class . For many children, parents and teachers this event was a highlight in their life during Covid times, a symbol that in difficult times if we stayed together and do a collective effort we could all share some moments of happiness and joy. In my experience schools were one of the safest places I could think of working during these trying times. They were clean, respected Covid guidelines and the kids found a safe space that they could run free, feel loved and were taken care off.
