Sarah Craig is a documentary photographer and multimedia storyteller based in Oakland, CA. A native of Bozeman, MT, she left the mountainous West to attend Vassar College on the East Coast, where she completed a B.A. in Geography. She attended the Salt Institute of Documentary Studies in Portland, ME for photography and multimedia production where she developed a creative approach and strong foundation for her documentary work. She is also an alum of the Maine Media Workshops.

Her recently completed projects include Faces of Fracking, an investigation into the impact of fracking on the people and places of California, and The Gulf Disaster, stories of the impacts of offshore oil drilling in the aftermath of the BP spill in Louisiana. Her work has been published by Grist.org, KALW, OnEarth, The American Prospect, Earth Island Journal, Yes! Magazine, AlterNet, Portland Press Herald, and others. She is a participating photographer in Showing (work x family) and her projects have been exhibited in various galleries and venues in the San Francisco Bay Area, including the San Francisco Public Library. She was also a finalist for the Fulbright-National Geographic Fellowship in 2014 and 2015. 

A recipient of the California Humanities Documentary Project Grant, she is currently working on Dreams of Dust, @dreamsofdust, a multimedia project that documents stories of climate migration in California’s Central Valley.
