Several years ago, in a season of grief and intense life transitions, I discovered the camera I had used in high school - the camera I had fallen in love with photography through - in a closet at my mom’s house. Separately, but perhaps relatedly, I had been feeling disillusioned with photography. I decided to spend the following months using only that camera, documenting the loved ones in my life who were supportive in a time of healing.

Kin is, if nothing else, family both chosen and biological. Kin is the home that I am fortunate to have, my true north in times of turbulence and instability.  This project served largely as a way of reconnecting with the camera, with photography and with those I love and am lucky enough to have love me back.
