If it's true as they say that life in Italy moves to its own rhythm, life in Sicily is an entirely different musical genre. In 2016 I had the opportunity to travel around this island, spending time in Catania and Ortigia, with side trips to Taorminia, Etna, Brucoli, Noto, Ragusa, and Marzamemi. More importantly, I had the good fortune to travel with my younger sister, who had just completed a book about the Italian Slow Food movement. Suffice to say we ate well. But food is just part of what makes Sicily a place I hope to return to again and again.
