Summary

"Soniquete” is that pulse you can’t explain, the swing that moves through the body before thought. It’s not just rhythm; it’s flavor, intuition, presence. In flamenco, soniquete is what separates the steps from the soul, the memorized from the lived. This ongoing photo series has been unfolding over the years in cities far from Andalucía, yet alive with the spirit of flamenco, Quito, Guayaquil, Orlando, and Buenos Aires. It’s a visual chronicle of how this tradition migrates, adapts, and flourishes beyond its birthplace. The people in these images are not strangers: they are friends, teachers, and fellow dancers I’ve met along the way, in the studios and tablaos that shaped my own flamenco path.
