Between smoke machines, sweat and DJ booths, the history of my city’s raves is written every weekend through the meeting of students in their rented houses. The dance floor fills with people who dance alone despite being together. To be in limbo is to be nowhere. Historically, the unborn and suicides were condemned there, awaiting a final judgment. How is the limbo of those who dance their losses and celebrate their triumphs, every night, on the dance floor? During the last years, I photographed many times in the middle of the night those ephemeral limbs of electronic music. Limbo became a personal project about the search for identity through the body.

Entre máquinas de humo, sudor y cabinas de DJs, la historia de las raves de mi ciudad se escribe todos los fines de semana a través del encuentro de estudiantes en sus casas alquiladas. La pista de baile se llena de personas que bailan solas a pesar de estar juntas. Estar en el limbo es no estar en ninguna parte. Históricamente, ahí eran condenados los nonatos y los suicidas, a la espera de un juicio final. ¿Cómo es el limbo de aquellxs que bailan sus pérdidas y celebran sus triunfos, cada noche, en la pista de baile? Durante los últimos años, fotografié muchas veces en medio de la noche esos limbos efímeros de música electrónica. Limbo se convirtió en un proyecto personal sobre la búsqueda de identidad a través del cuerpo.
