About

David Stuart is a co-founder of FotoEvidence where he serves as managing editor. FotoEvidence combines David's life long engagement with photography and social justice advocacy. David's interest in photography began in a childhood spent among photographers in New York City, where his mother was a photo editor and his father a filmmaker. He became an advocate for human rights as a teenager at the United Nations International School (UNIS). He was a co-founder and spent seven years as the director of the Disarmament Action Network, a coalition of 117 organizations opposed to increased military budgets and the militarization of US foreign policy. He spent eight years with the Boston College Media Reseach and Action Project designing, executing and analyzing research on the mass media and political cognition. He has managed political campaigns and worked as a consultant to social movement, non-profit and business organizations.

David has degrees from Yale College, the Episcopal Divinity School and Boston College. He also co- founded the Freelance Players Inc. an educational theater organization on whose board he served for more than 25 years.
