It's a pleasure for me to introduce my new experiemental series by using 360 photography entitled (Don't) Dare to Dream. The series is commisioned by Goethe-Institut Hongkong under the regional project "Data Dreams" initiated by the Goethe-Instituts in East Asia region,
With the use of an an inexpensive 360 degree camera. I superimpose some unknown mega-structures onto the actual scenes to create a surreal and imaginative representation of how these places will look like in the future. These images are not meant to be done in a photorealistic way. They are superimposing what is the ambiguous hybrid of reality and the dreamlike illusion, offering viewers a sense of being in a chaotic labyrinth.Â
If you happen to be in Hong Kong, the series is now exhibiting at Goethe-Institut Hongkong. The exhibitoon provides an immersive viewing experience with the help of VR goggles as well as a panoramic video projection derived from this series: https://www.goethe.de/ins/cn/en/sta/hon/ver.cfm?fuseaction=events.detail&event_id=20875391
