Artists for Puerto Rico (“AFPR”) is a grassroots initiative by a collective of artists who felt compelled to lend their support to the people of Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane María. Founded by Eneida Cardona and Co-Creator Joe Castro—AFRP launched an online store ( www.artistsforpuertorico.org ) that sells art prints and other donated merchandise to help raise money for the relief effort of Puerto Rico.
On June 28 from 5 to 9 PM AFRP is celebrating ARTIST FOR PUERTO RICO SILENT AUCTION FUNDRAISER, a silent auction exhibition fundraiser event hosted by The Bronx Documentary Center with the generous support of the International Center of Photography, Dromahair Printing and Fiber Ink Studio, the Bronx Brewery, and Port Morris Distillery. The mission is to support Puerto Rico’s recovery and its future generations by helping to fund art and educational initiatives.
AFPR will be donating funds to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico, a non-profit organization that offers afterschool programs and services to girls, boys and young people between the ages of 6 to 18 years. BGCPR offers a safe and creative place where children can develop to achieve their academic, personal and professional goals.
