Muslim women in Jakarta, Indonesia, take hijab as a real fashion accessory. Colorful scarves and dresses are put on to cover their bodies, not only for religious reasons but also for the purpose of being chic.

Hijabistas, contractions of hijab and fashionistas are common scenes in the streets of Jakarta.  For them, being religious was never really a restriction to freely express themselves. In accordance with Islamic principles, they cover their body except for the face and hands. However, they also have a great interest in fashion and do not want to be ostracized by femininity.
