Elena Hermosa is a Spanish photojournalist and videographer, currently based in NYC. Formerly, she was in Ireland since 2008. Focusing on various social justice issues, Hermosa has collaborated with several NGO’s and publications as a photographer and videographer.
Hermosa completed her undergraduate studies in Social Work and Masters degree in International Cooperation and humanitarian intervention. She completed Media studies in Ireland and graduated from the documentary photography and Photojournalism program at the International Center of Photography in New York, where she received the ICP George and Hoyce Moss Scholarship 2015.
Her images and short documentaries have appeared in publications like The New York Times, Huffington Post, The Irish Times, and Rwanda Post, Films for Action, among others. Hermosa was awarded a scholarship from The Thomson Reuters Foundation in 2013. In 2015—she was a finalist at the Manuel Rivera-Ortiz Film Festival and ICCL Human Rights Film Awards.
