As a photographer who shoots for no one but myself I have the freedom of wandering New York City, shooting whatever I see in my daily life. I photograph on the street in a documentary style. I also photograph from the passenger seat of a car.
I photograph as Pleasure, as Practice, as Meditation and as Homage; for my Sanity and my Delight; because I Must, because I Have to; to Teach from, to Learn from, to Look at, to Remember.
As a teacher of Book Arts I am very interested in pairings and sequences of photos. How the left influences/changes the right and vice versa. And how they work together.
I’ve been drawn to the square since graduate school days when I shot B&W with a Rolleiflex. I am still in love with this form.
