To travel away from home and come back changed with a suitcase of memoirs is something that cannot be described, only felt. It is certainly one of the few things one can never do enough of, and by His will MashAllah the need to travel to blessed lands, people, places and sights is still ever present within most of us.
When travelling within one's own country the experience is one that is away from the day-to-day routine yet holds in it the warmth of home. The destinations then lose importance and the journey itself becomes elevated, reconnecting one with the land itself. This portfolio explores and shares a very personal and visibly beautiful journey taken by train from Karachi to Lahore.
As a fine art photographer my desire is to have the images flow as imaginative, and loaded with emotion, concept and storytelling leading you to illustrate a story, out for yourself. Hopefully you will feel a close-proximity to the people from different walks of life, at the train station, the city suburbs, quaint little villages, railway crossings, and within the train as well. A multitude of rational ethnicities coming together, getting along and moving on with there lives. For myself I have always felt a surge of emotions when thoughts of Pakistan run thorough my mind … who we are, what we were and can be collectively as a nation.
Open your hidden eyes and return to the root of the root of your own self.

I hitched a ride on a cloud
My glorious journey led me to my love
Within moments of my beloved’s presence
Encumbrance of a lifetime left my company
