In November I was reached by the excellent news of a new law in Guatemala. You must now reach 18 before you are allowed to marry! And the only way to get around this law is by permission from a special court. This step is one closer towards justice for all young girls in Guatemala who are wed to much older men as soon as they reach puberty. It is also a confirmation for all the abused and raped girls that suffer great injustices due to a lack of respect for their lives. The organisation OSAR which has backed me continuously throughout my time in Guatemala have been part of making the new law come into place, and I have never been prouder than when I say that my exhibition had a small part in realising it too. When the show was displayed in Guatemala City in August, 12 of the countries ministers where guided through the story. Children having Children continues to get attention internationally and in Guatemala, here are some examples!
