Public Project
Fishtown Daily
Fishtown is a neighborhood in the northeastern part of Philadelphia. within the past 12 years, since i've moved here, Fishtown has changed dramatically due to developers buying up property, old warehouses, and empty lots, and quickly building apartment units to create a real estate boom. Because of that boom, new businesses, restaurants, etc. has changed the residential feeling of Fishtown.
Since I've been working on this project of Fishtown for the past 8 years, I've had to make different volumes to explain the narrative of the changing community. Historically Fishtown has been a majority white neighborhood, but with the new development, one can see a more diverse population moving in. These images revolve around the year 2020, with the Covid shut down of Philadelphia, and some of the Black Lives Matter protests and representation from people's homes.
