Photography has been Patronite’s only career, having been first being published in his teens. Professional experiences contribute to deep knowledge in all facets of this area of visual communications, Patronite has been active in the industry during technical advances from black & white or color analog, through all the advances of digital photography.

While a newspaper staff photographer & picture editor, documentary & breaking-news coverage garnered three nominations for the prestigious Pulitzer Prize for Photography

Assignments have taken Patronite to over 40 countries worldwide & nearly the entirety of the United States. Since 2000, his attention has been on producing long-term photographic essays on a variety of subjects, including “Dia de los Muertos”; a family circus; the deadly effects of Alzheimer’s Disease and contemporary burlesque.

As a curator he has assembled showings for public installations at hospitals, galleries & Art Museums. Personal photographic art has been exhibited in single & group shows over three decades. Series of work from long-term essays have been exhibited in Barcelona, Spain; Trieste, Italy; Paris, France; Glasgow, Scotland and New York in 2021 & 2022.

Single images & series have garnered 60 awards in 2021 & 2022 alone, in international photography competitions.

Currently work continues on “My Americana”, a contemporary essay on The United States of America, inspired by Robert Franks epic “The Americans”.
