Barranquilla, Colombia. 2023

In the effervescence of the carnival in Barranquilla, the city is impregnated with celebration and liberation. Multiple social organizations give life to comparsas, paying tribute to the traditions they celebrate with exuberance before Ash Wednesday.

In the midst of this vibrant atmosphere, "El Desacato" emerges, a troupe rooted in the land that reinvents the ancient customs of artisans with a fresh and bold artistic expression. Textures and colors inspired by nature and the overflowing creativity of its members that transform to give life to new carnival characters fusing shapes and uses, thus reinterpreting cultural roots with a fresh and contemporary approach.
