2020: The Year That Was & Wasn't
Personally, I feel I lost a lot of ground professionally this year, both due to the pandemic and in other ways.
I also lost a lot of ground personally -- and quite literally. Two consecutive bike crashes have been rather life-changing, resulting in a broken kneecap, severe muscle atrophy, and PTSD that will probably see me put my bikes on the market next year.
It was really, really hard to pick up a camera consistently this year, both mentally and physically. The times I did pick it up, it was either completely force, or complete freedom.
I didn't think I'd have much to look at following this year of loss, this lost year. I knew my images wouldn't be making any of the "2020 In Review" edits -- the images I made were largely for myself, unpublished.
But looking back at my 2020 work, I'm proud. I did what I could, when I could, with what I had in front of me. I still found moments to create, despite the personal, professional AND collective loss of the year.
