I am a freelance photographer and multimedia producer in Austin, Tx. A regular day could have me shooting pictures, producing a video project, editing multimedia or planning long-term projects. I love good light, clean sound and tight edits. Above all else, I am most excited to work on projects that allow me to explore a subject matter and to create meaningful conversations about social issues.
I am drawn to projects which reveal authentic situations, documenting the scenes that unfold in front of my camera. People want and deserve to be heard, I beleive that my role as a photographer is to document and deliver their stories, examining how social issues impact communities and individual people.
I am intrigued by life at the intersection of class, privilege, education and opportunity. The pre-prescribed environment in which we are born often dictates available resources and alters major life decisions. I am interested in the way that a person’s environment shapes who they are destined to be or radically, where they break free from their cultural expectations.
When not working, I love hiking with my kids and husband, looking through old photography books, runing with my dogs, and eating veggies from my backyard garden.
