This is a story about love, hope, and the dreams of a young indigenous woman who left the highlands of Michoacán, Mexico, to cross the border to America 20 years ago, eloping with a man she had only known for 3 days, hoping to create a better life for themselves.
This is the wedding they celebrated 20 years later, with their Purépecha community coming from all over the Southwest to help them celebrate a traditional wedding, where everyone pitched in to help with the cooking, preparations, and finances.
