PAVIA, ITALY – JULY 17, 2022: A view over Ticino near Cascina Venara; the grass between the embankment road and the river is all burnt due to the lack of rain. In the distance, on the curve of the river can be seen cement that’s been placed there to stop the river from eroding the right bank.
BEREGUARDO (PV), ITALY – JULY 17, 2022: The pontoon bridge of Bereguardo that goes over Ticino River is lower than usual. Water of the river should almost cover the pieces of wood that are around the left pillar; only the tips should be visible. During the normal spring and autumn floods (due to snow melting in the mountains and the autumn rain, respectively), the water is even higher.

The floating dock in front of Canoeing Club Baldesio had a note on it: “Due to the condition of Po, please secure your vessel on the outer edge of the dock.” (By now it would be impossible on the inner edge.)

The bridge is 1,081m (3,547ft) long and it was completed in 1912. The water seen on this side of the bridge is considered Po (the entrance point of Ticino is behind the trees that can be seen behind the bridge).
