Larysa Sendich

Born to Ukrainian and Bosnian parents, Larysa Sendich spent her childhood between the cultures of what her immigrant family remembered as home, and life as an American citizen. This division of cultural circumstances fueled a life-long pursuit for the meaning of ‘Home’.

Since the beginning of her career in photography, Larysa primarily works in Ukraine, exploring the historical impact–culturally, physically and emotionally left on the landscape and people of this region. 

In 2010 she completed the Documentary Photography and Photojournalism Program at the International Center of Photography. Her photographs have been featured in numerous group exhibitions and publications. She currently lives in Brooklyn.
