Lauren Hermele

Lauren Hermele is a multimedia storyteller, a documentary and editorial, and editor. She is a photography Fulbright Fellow and was chosen by PDN30 in 2012. Lauren is an International Center of Photography’s Photojournalism and Documentary Photography graduate and for the past few years, she has worked on photo projects in the Republic of Georgia, Romania, Colombia, Peru, New Orleans, Texas, Vermont, California, New York, and Washington DC. She graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a major in Psychology and a minor in Fine Arts. Following college, she moved to Barcelona where she lived for nearly ten years, where she worked as a translator, editor, and photographer.
She is currently based in Berkeley, California.
Lauren is a firm believer that images often do speak louder than words and have the power to access people immediately across cultures, race, and age and, therefore, can be a key element in promoting social change and awareness.
