Maxwell Briceño, born in Caracas in 1996, is a prominent Venezuelan street photographer and visual storyteller. He is part of the photographic collective Cacri Photos, a platform that has allowed him to explore and capture the essence of urban life in his country.
Over the years, Briceño has evolved his artistic focus towards photojournalism. He currently collaborates with Reuters, and institutions such as UNHCR.
Briceño began his studies in photography in 2013 at the Escuela de Foto Arte (EFA), where he began to strengthen his artistic vision.
In 2017, he obtained a diploma in photography at the Bolivarian University of Venezuela (UBV), which allowed him to deepen his technical and conceptual training.
In 2022 he was selected as a student of the Semillero Migrante, resulting in the beginning of a project focused on documenting migration processes.


Exhibitions and Awards

  • In 2018, Represent Venezuela in the exhibition “Miradas Jóvenes de Iberoamérica” in Spain, selected by the International Youth Organization for Ibero-America (OIJ).
  • In 2019, group photo exhibition with Cacri Photos entitled “Our Craft”, which was exhibited in New York.
  • In 2020, he is recognized by the National Art Gallery of Caracas, as young artist of the month.
  • Receives 2nd place in the Diaspora contest of the International Organization for Migration with his work “Quilombo”, in which he records the Haitian migration in Venezuela.
  • In 2023, he is selected to be part of the photobook Anthology of Latin American Street Photography, carried out by the Urban Observers collective.
  • group exhibition “Callejera Criolla” at the Museo de Bellas Artes.
  • Solo exhibition entitled “Faces and Scars” at the National Art Gallery.
