Amine Machitouen (b. 1992, Morocco) is a documentary photographer living in Tangier, Morocco. Amine is primarily interested in cultural identity, the aftermath of conflict and disaster, and questions of race and coloniality. He is currently in the final steps of his M.A. in British and North American Cultural Studies, where he writes on “photographing atrocities”. His academic research is mainly interested in the relationship between photography and language.

He is a member of the African Photojournalism Database, a joint project of the World Press Photo Foundation and Everyday Africa. At the same time, he is on Diversify’s “Up Next”.
