About
After training in law and journalism, Marie Magnin worked for ten years as a journalist and then as a chief editor for television, before becoming a photojournalist. Based in Paris and distributed by Hans Lucas since 2017, she covers social and political news for the French and foreign press. Her work is also published and exhibited at festivals.
Marie Magnin develops photographic projects that question vulnerability, isolation, and the harshness of society (such as on the LGBTQI+ community in Tunisia, the world of emergencies in Mayotte, or exiles between Paris and Calais). In 2018, she began a long-term project at the Chez Totor dance hall, looking at the loneliness of senior citizens and the relationships that such a place forges between them.
Marie Magnin is represented by Galerie Triangle for the sale of fine art prints. Committed to a process of transmission, she has developed an introductory photojournalism workshop for children and is a certification jury at Gobelins l'école de l'image, in Paris.
