Project Text
Shaped by air is the story of the only blown glass art studio in Cuba. Eduardo, a self-taught artist, creates unique and handmade pieces every day, some are utilitarian, others are pure works of art. He is always accompanied by two young students: his son and a friend ensuring the succession of know-how and the persistence of art, today in danger. In this small studio in Lawton, a popular neighborhood in Havana, Eduardo bakes, blows and shapes all the pieces with instruments and resources made by himself. The furnace where the glass is forged, the rod with which it is blown, and the tools in which it rests, still boiling red hot, have all been crafted by the same hands that delicately shape hot glass.
